Skout’s Honor is an award-winning brand that provides innovative life-changing pet essentials to improve the lives of pets and their people. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and driven Inside Sales Representative who is eager to grow with us at our office in Oceanside, CA.
The Inside Sales Representative will play a key role in sales growth by building strong relationships with independent pet retailers. This role will use various communication channels such as email, phone, and video conference to qualify leads, present Skout’s Honor products, overcome objections and negotiate deals - to close sales and expand our brand presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation:
- Analyze retailer data to identify gaps in product offering and secure placement of new SKUs
- Actively prospect and generate qualified leads through outbound/inbound calls, emails, and social media outreach
Customer Relationship Management:
- Utilize a six-week rotation to cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with independent pet retailers, ensuring satisfaction and retention
- Gain a thorough understanding of retailer needs to determine the level of interest and offer the most appropriate product solutions
- Prepare and submit orders to distribution partners
- Respond to inquiries and address concerns professionally and efficiently
- Occasionally provide support at industry shows
CRM Database Management:
- Manage deals in CRM pipeline, tracking the progress of leads through the sales cycle to close
- Maintain accurate records of sales, company, and contact activities in CRM
- Submit sample requests and assets via CRM to boost brand awareness and introduce new products
Sales Targets and Reporting:
- Accurately report on sales activities, opportunities, and outcomes
- Meet or exceed individual key performance metrics as set by management
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and other departments to ensure a seamless experience for the retailer and optimize the sales process
- Coordinate with the Marketing department to ensure alignment on lead generation and nurturing efforts
- Collaborate with the Sales department to share insights and refine sales strategies
- Provide retailer feedback to appropriate team members to improve the customer experience
Product Knowledge:
- Become a product knowledge expert to educate retailers on features, benefits, and unique selling points to meet retailer needs
- Stay informed on product updates, industry trends, and competition
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve selling techniques
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in sales or customer service required, preferably in inside sales
- Customer-Oriented: Strong focus on providing excellent customer service
- Sales Knowledge: Understanding of the sales process, including lead generation, qualification, and closing techniques
- Goal-Oriented: Self-Motivated with a strong drive to exceed sales targets
- Technical Ability: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office
- Adaptability: Strong ability to manage time effectively and pivot when needed
- Written and Verbal Communication: Ability to effectively articulate Skout’s Honor value proposition
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle customer objections and resolve issues
